Muse on iPad is the same Meta app as on iPhone, installed from the App Store, on a larger screen. The listing for Muse from Meta includes iPad and requires iPadOS 18.0 or later. Your account is still a Meta account, and Muse is still limited to people 18 and over in the US and Canada.
The extra space helps when a task comes back as a long document, a spreadsheet, or a side chat you want open next to the main one. It does not add a different set of powers, and it does not skip the free usage limit.
Install on iPad
- Open the App Store on the iPad and install Muse from Meta. You can also start at Meta’s download page and use the App Store button.
- If the install is refused, check iPadOS. The listing asks for iPadOS 18.0 or later.
- Open the app and sign in. If you have no Meta account, create one with Facebook, Instagram, email, or a phone number.
- You should land on the Chat tab.
If you already use Muse on an iPhone with that Meta account, sign in with the same one. You are not creating a second Muse.
Use the larger screen on purpose
Meta’s getting-started guide still applies, word for word, on the tablet.
- Put one project in the main chat and another in a side chat. The menu is in the top left. The new-chat control is the pencil-and-note icon.
- Ask for a file when the answer should be something you can keep. PDFs, spreadsheets, documents, images, and podcasts can be generated, and they are saved in the Library tab.
- Say the format. On a big screen a table is easier to read than a paragraph, so ask for the table.
- Keep approvals in view. A longer draft is easier to skim on an iPad, which is a reason to read it, not a reason to tap through it.
Reminders are unchanged: say what and when, then look under the Assistant icon, in Upcoming.
A beginner setup that stays tidy
- Leave connectors off until the first chat makes sense.
- Start a side chat named for one real job, such as a trip or a school week.
- Ask for a summary or a draft, and say “do not send this.”
- If the draft is right, tell Muse what to change. If it is wrong, say which sentence is wrong.
- Delete the side chat when the job is over. Meta says you can.
If iPad setup stalls
- The App Store will not offer it. Update to iPadOS 18. Also confirm you are signed into an App Store region where Meta is distributing the app.
- Sign-in fails after a successful install. The age and country rules still apply. Meta’s page limits Muse to the US and Canada, 18 and over. An invite code does not change that.
- The layout feels like a blown-up phone. Use side chats and the Library tab so the main thread is not one endless scroll.
- You subscribed on iPhone and want to manage it here. Meta says you manage a subscription on the platform and account where you bought it. An iPad using the same Apple account can see an App Store subscription. A plan bought on the web is managed on the web.
Questions about iPad
Do I need a separate iPad subscription?
No. The free limit and any paid plan belong to the Muse account. You do not buy iPad access on its own.
Can the iPad see files on my Mac?
Local Mac files are a Mac-app feature, and they need macOS permissions. The iPad app is the mobile app. Use Muse for Mac when the files live on the computer.
Is the Meta AI app the iPad version of Muse?
No. Install the listing named Muse from Meta.
Where is Usage?
Menu in the top left, then Settings, then Usage. Upgrade sits under that heading if you decide the free limit is too small.
